Nature is coming back to the city. California State Parks’ restoration of Yosemite Slough will create the largest contiguous wetland area in San Francisco. It will be accessible to visitors and will serve the Bayview Hunters Point neighborhood.
The education center at Yosemite Slough will be the central feature of an environmental area that will serve local school field trips. It will sit on top of capped toxic soils and provide a vantage for observing the restored wetland. It is planned as a zero net energy building.
