California Hotel

You can’t miss the sign (now lit up with more efficient LED lights). The California Hotel, constructed in 1930, has been restored to its original luster, and converted into more usable space. The building has been reconfigured into 120 studios, 12 one-bedroom apartments and five two-bedroom apartments, along with seven accessible units for residents with visual or hearing disabilities.

The housing also now features four program rooms, a community room and a new laundry room. The beautiful and historic exterior brick façade has been renewed. Interior elements such as the original coffered wood lobby ceiling, corbels, and terrazzo floors with inlaid bears have also been brought back to their original gleaming state.
