On Thursday, January 28, Gelfand Partners Architects hosted the winter benefit for Plug In America. PIA is a nonprofit which promotes awareness of the benefits and capabilities of plug-in electric cars and plug-in hybrids, and publicly advocates to industry and local and national public representatives for vehicles powered by cleaner, cheaper, domestic electricity.

Lisa Gelfand speaking about energy efficient vehicles and buildings
Lisa explained that there is a connection between energy efficient vehicles and energy efficient buildings. Did you know that you can design a school to be completely off the electric grid, and still save only 50% of its energy consumption? The rest of the energy is consumed transporting the kids and teachers to and from school.
